HARPER TURNS ONE! ...but where was Karl?
The Today host appeared to be absent from the big occasion
It was a no-expense-spared first birthday party for Karl Stefanovic and Jasmine Yarbrough’s daughter Harper. But despite the towering birthday cake, Harper’s fairy princess outfit, balloons and gift bags, there was one crucial element that appeared to be missing from the photos – her dad Karl!
The high-profile couple invited their nearest and dearest to celebrate Harper’s first year around the sun, with guests including sister-in-law Sylvia Jeffreys and husband Peter Stefanovic, who wasted no time in uploading images of the lavish affair.

But while Jasmine, 37, was seen front and centre in almost every frame, Karl, 46, was curiously missing.
Even his brother, fun Uncle Peter, made more of an appearance in the snaps from the day, with the Sky News journalist proving to be the entertainment of the event,
posing with his baby son Oscar in matching black Adidas tracksuits. Jasmine’s own coverage of the milestone event was similar, with the shoe designer leaving Karl out of every image she shared on Instagram. Karl was also absent from the comments, as Jasmine failed to mention him in any of her online dedications. “Thank you for making my world Harper May! You have completely filled Mummy’s heart,” she wrote. It comes as concerns mount that there may be trouble in paradise. “There have been whispers for a while that things might not be all rosy on the home front,” says one Stefanovic source. “Normally Jasmine would have Karl front and centre, but no one can work out where he was in the pictures she posted. Hopefully it’s not a message that things have turned sour.”
Karl didn’t post a special birthday message to baby Harper on his own Instagram account either.
‘There have been whispers things might not be all rosy’
Revealing that Jasmine has recently “shifted all her energy and attention to baby Harper”, the insider adds that “Karl might be feeling a bit left out” as Jasmine’s focus has been on their young daughter and the plan to have baby number two.
“Jasmine wants a second bub to keep up with Sylvia and Peter and has made no secret she wants Harper to have a sibling,” says our source. “But Karl is staring down the barrel, turning 50 in a few years and perhaps can’t see himself having another newborn.”
It comes after reports the pair may have reached “boiling point” after they were forced to move from their rented property in North Sydney’s Castlecrag when the owner suddenly wanted to sell up.
And while they’re said to have found a new property in the harbour city’s ritzy eastern suburbs, sources say Jasmine has grown tired of the couple’s endless moves across Sydney.
