AMBER PETTY ‘I miss my best friend’
Mary’s bridesmaid Amber Petty has revealed how she grieved when her Aussie best friend left Sydney for her new life in Denmark.
“I hated the idea of her being so far away. I didn’t want to lose the light Mary brought to my life, the comfort and security of our friendship,” Amber writes in her new memoir, This Is Not A Love Song, in which she also addresses her struggles with mental health. “I worried about being left alone in Sydney, knowing how selfdestructive I was.”

Frederik, has also spilled new details about the big day. “I decided to go and see how Mary was feeling on the biggest morning of her life… I found Mary sitting alone drinking tea. Everything was so calm
– as though it were any other morning.”
And while it appears the pair aren’t as close these days – with Amber admitting, “I knew from that night on we’d never live in the same country again – that all the things I treasured about us… were over” – there’s hopes Mary may decide to reach out to her old confidante after reading the book.
