BREAKFAST FOODS in a hurry!

-

Whether you have two or 10 minutes to prepare, nutritionist and Uncle Tobys ambassador Kathleen Alleaume shares her top five speedy (and nutritious) breakfast foods for when you’re in a hurry! 1

EGGS Packed with high-quality protein and contain 11 different vitamins and nutrients, including vitamin B and iron to help unlock energy for a morning boost. Serve on wholegrain toast for a well-rounded meal pronto. 2

ROLLED OATS Can be served cold or warm. I rotate between a bowl of porridge and overnight oats. Both fibre-rich options can be topped with fresh seasonal fruit, yoghurt and a sprinkle of seeds or nuts.

3 UNCLE TOBYS BREAKFAST

BAKES When there is no time to spare, I opt for highfibre and low GI options such as Uncle Tobys Breakfast Bakes, which contain the same amount of wholegrain oats as a bowl of porridge. Pair this grab-and-go brekkie with a piece of fruit and bottle of water to ensure you get a healthy kick-start to the day. 4

BANANAS The ultimate portable fruit, but if you have two minutes to spare, whip up a smoothie using staples like milk and leafy green vegetables, as well as a handful of nuts for an added protein boost. 5

YOGHURT Filled with beneficial bacteria, it dishes up a balanced blend of protein and slow-releasing carbs to give you sustained energy.
