Dannii Minogue

While some dread turning the big 5-0, Dannii Minogue feels only gratitude to be reaching the milestone in October.

“Each year when I have a birthday I think about when my sister was very sick and going through cancer,” Danii says of her big sister Kylie (inset), 53, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005.

“The doctors said we don’t know if she’s going to get through this. She’s going to have all the treatments day by day, but… So if anyone says, ‘Ugh, I’m getting old’, I tell them, ‘Yeah – the lucky ones do. And it’s awesome and you’ve got to enjoy it.’”

But the mother-of-one admits her body is showing some signs of ageing.

“We all want to look like J.LO but our knees creak and we can pull a muscle just getting out of the car,” she jokes. Still, she boasts an age-defying appearance, which she puts down to sleep and hand cream, which she says “keep you looking young”!
