Nearly a decaded after they split, the pair are still at loggerheads, this time over Seal’s new woman
When Seal stepped out with a pretty blonde in St Tropez earlier this month, fans immediately drew comparisons to the singer’s ex Heidi Klum.
“He def has a type,” commented one fan online.
It soon emerged that the supermodel lookalike was the 58-year-old singer’s former personal assistant, Laura Strayer, and the pair are now officially dating after first meeting in 2006, when she worked for Seal and his then-wife Heidi.

Friends say the coupling has “enraged” Heidi, 48, who is now married to German musician Tom Kaulitz, 31.
“Seal’s got some nerve,” says a pal. “After slamming her for dating the ‘help’ years ago, he’s gone and done it himself. It’s the last straw for Heidi, who has been battling with Seal over parenting their now-teenage kids. He’s much more strict with them than she is and it’s a constant battle. Heidi’s coffee years ago, has poured fuel on the fire. He’s never publicly apologised for that comment and he needs to now.”
Seal slammed Heidi in 2012 for her fling with her bodyguard Martin Kristen, shortly after their dramatic split.
‘He’s been no gift from a rose, more like a thorn for Heidi’
“I would have preferred Heidi show a little bit more class and at least wait until we separated first before deciding to fornicate with the help, as it were,” he told TMZ. “But I guess you now all have the answer that you’ve been looking for over the past seven months.”
Heidi called Seal’s allegations “sad”.
“‘Sad’ doesn’t begin to describe it,” adds the friend. “It was a deplorable snobby comment and a terrible example to the children. He’s been no gift from a rose, more like a thorn for Heidi.”
Despite it being a long nine years since they split, the former
duo’s public war of words has continued ever since. In May, Seal dressed down Heidi over their co-parenting of Leni, 17, Henry, 15, Johan, 14, and Lou, 11.
“It can be challenging. It requires teamwork. If you are a team, if both parents are a team, then it’s really easy and that’s not a real challenge at all... But you have to be a team. And if you’re not a team, then it can all fall to pieces. No. I never had that teamwork [with Heidi]. We never had teamwork,” he says. Heidi had previously confessed the same.
“It could be easier sometimes, but everyone is healthy and that’s the most important thing. Everything else can be figured out,” she said in 2020.
In August last year, the couple went to court, with Seal trying to stop her from taking the kids, saying in court papers, “I believe Heidi has a hidden agenda to move the children to Germany.” The insider says, “He’s worried that with her husband [Tom Kaulitz] being German too, she wants to relocate there.
“Things are pretty crazy in California, but even she knows she’s not going to be able to do that. Look at what happened to Kelly Rutherford [actress who lost custody to her French husband]. Heidi’s not going to take that chance.
“She knows she’s got to get on with co-parenting with Seal, but the irony and hypocrisy of him ‘dating the help’ too is not lost on anyone.”
