BACK FOR A SECOND SHOT AT FAME!

-

For artists Penelope Pettigrew and Ella Monnery, their Voice journeys were cut dramatically short last year.

But in 2021, they’re returning for their second shot at superstardom – and this time, they’re not giving up on their dreams so easily.

“I decided to come back because I’ve developed a lot as an artist and I want to show that to the coaches and Australia,” Penelope, 32, tells Woman’s Day.

The budding singer, from NSW, reveals she’d been “struggling with vocal health issues” when she failed to turn a chair last year, but has been taking care of her voice with speech pathology, and is back to brazenly perform the same song – Sia’s Alive.

“I’m nervous to sing it again, but I’m hoping Guy will turn his chair for me.

I felt like he really believed in me last year and I’m hoping he still feels the same way,” she says.

For 24-year-old Ella, from Queensland, returning this year is all about unfinished business after she was forced to pull out of Kelly Rowland’s team when COVID-19 struck last year.

“After having the opportunity of being on the show taken away from me last year, I have more fight in me this year to really earn my place and make it further than last year,” says Ella.

Singing Jessica Mauboy’s hit Little Things, Ella hopes Jess or Guy will give her a second chance to succeed.

“I definitely feel like I want it more, so come on Guy – turn for me!” she adds.
