Miranda ‘ORLANDO’S LIKE AN ANNOYING BROTHER!’

The supermodel takes a very public swipe at her actor ex

They divorced in 2013 and she’s been nothing but complimentary of her ex-husband, but last week Miranda Kerr let her thoughts on Orlando Bloom be known – and she didn’t hold back!

In a new podcast, the Australian model took several thinly veiled digs at the actor, describing him as somewhat of a brother figure. “He’s, like, to me right now, a brother... and most of the time an annoying brother,” Miranda said of Orlando, 44, who she split from after just three years of marriage.

Miranda, 38, who shares 10-year-old son Flynn with The Lord Of The Rings star, went on to allude to ongoing tensions between the former couple. “Whenever he would try to get into anything else, I’d be like, ‘Hold up. Is this about Flynn?’” says the mother-of-three, who is now married to Snapchat boss Evan Spiegel, 31, with whom she shares sons Hart, three, and Myles, 22 months.

‘It was a superchallenging time personally’

She also revealed she called time on the short-lived marriage for her son’s sake.

“Flynn was probably almost two at the time... but he had always been very vocal at a young age, and I remember before [Orlando and I] even separated, he was like, ‘Daddy, don’t look at Mummy like that,’” says Miranda. “He was always very protective. I was like, ‘That’s probably a sign it’s not the right thing.’ We weren’t bringing out the best in each other.”

TOUGH TIMES

Now, after Miranda’s comments, insiders have confirmed the pair’s divorce was far from amicable. “It wasn’t easy for Miranda to stay calm during their split,” a source tells Woman’s Day. “It was tough and it took all her patience to not lash out.”

Of the early days of co-parenting, Miranda says, “It was super-challenging personally, and I know it was challenging for Flynn.”

But sources close to the former couple say things are looking much better for Flynn now, and his stepmum Katy Perry has had a lot to do with bringing his parents together.

“The change in Orlando since Katy – and especially baby Daisy – came into his life has been dramatic,” the source tells Woman’s Day. “He and Flynn have a wonderful father-son bond, and Flynn adores his dad and his new little sister.”

Indeed, Miranda says she’s “so grateful” Katy, 36, came on the scene. “She helps me deal with him because she can deal with him… it takes the pressure off me,” she says. “We go on holidays together. We celebrate all the important milestones together. I love her. I mean, it’d be safe to say that I love her more than Flynn’s dad.”

And Katy’s thrilled, too. “As far as Katy’s concerned, it’s in Daisy’s interests to have happy access to her big brother, even if it does mean throwing Orlando under the bus every now and then!” says our source.
