ANGELINA’S HOSPITAL DASH

-

Angelina Jolie had her doting daughters Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, and Vivienne, 13, waiting to greet her – and give loving hugs – after the star emerged from a six-hour visit to a hospital in Burbank, California on August 20.

While the Oscar winner’s long visit could be cause for alarm, a source insists to Woman’s Day it was nothing more than a routine check-up.

“Angelina takes her health very seriously,” says the insider of the 46-year-old actress, who underwent a preventive double mastectomy in 2013 after learning she was at a high risk of developing breast cancer.

“Having the breast cancer gene and what she went through to avoid that was a huge ordeal for the whole family, especially her girls, who are old enough now to understand what’s going on.”

According to the insider, Angelina gets tested every couple of months.

“Every now and then a minor thing will show up, because she gets the best medical treatment, and every time she gets checked out – touch wood – she’s had nothing but benign results.”

And the insider says there’s a reason her daughters look so relieved. “This is a deeply personal battle for all of them,” says the source, “so it’s heartwarming to see the joy on all their faces.”
