He was once a household name, hosting one of the country’s biggest shows ever, Australian Idol, in the early 2000s. But nearly two decades on, James Mathison’s career is looking very different!
The 43-year-old shocked fans last week after he was spotted pushing trollies stacked with boxes at Amazon’s distribution warehouse in Sydney. Sporting a hi-vis vest, trucker hat and safety gloves, the former TV star looked worlds away from the glamorous life he once enjoyed.
The surprising new gig comes after James’ ill-fated breakfast news program Wake Up was axed just six months after premiering in 2013, and an attempt at a political career three years later, where he tried to claim Tony Abbott’s federal seat of Warringah, also backfired.
But despite his humble job, James has been met with praise from fans, with many saying, “He should be proud making an honest living.”
