Woman’s Day (Australia)

NENE’S MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS

-

FERGIE & HER LOVER

The shots of Texas millionaire John Bryan kissing the newly separated Duchess of York’s feet was a huge scandal. “I go down in history for publishing Fergie’s toe-sucking photos – Woman’s Day sold 1.4m copies that week. The photos cost $150,000,” says Nene.

BOB & BLANCHE IN ROBES

Bob Hawke and his lover Blanche d’alpuget were famously shot in their bathrobes for Woman’s Day. “I agreed to show him the story and he wasn’t happy about something and was yelling and screaming, so I just put the phone down. I agreed to pay him $200,000. He still took the money.”

DIANA’S DEATH

After Princess Diana’s death, the issue of Woman’s Day set to hit shelves the next day – all about the royal and her boyfriend Dodi – was withdrawn from sale and millions of copies were pulped.
