POLICE CALLED TO HIGHGROVE
The calamities continue to flow for Prince Charles, who has found himself at the centre of an uncomfortable police investigation into his charity and its boss, his right-hand man Michael Fawcett.
Sources tell Woman’s Day that London’s Metropolitan Police are keen to question the future king over his involvement in a shocking cash-for-honours scandal in which Michael, 58, has been accused of using his position to secure a CBE for a Saudi business contact in exchange for donations to The Prince’s Foundation.
“It doesn’t look good. Charles has been incredibly close with Michael since the 1980s but he has indicated he will cooperate with authorities,” says a source. “Charles will prefer to invite investigators to his Highgrove residence, rather than the indignity of having the future king being snapped going into police headquarters.”
In further bad news for the heir apparent, 72, it was revealed that his close friend, historian Count Adam Zamoyski, also 72, has been placed under house arrest in mysterious circumstances in Poland.
