Sylvia’s ultimatum: ‘IT’S KARL OR LISA’
She’s managed to stay out of the crossfire in the feud between friend Lisa Wilkinson and brother-in-law Karl Stefanovic, but as Lisa’s autobiography It Wasn’t Meant To Be Like This – which is said to be full of damning anecdotes about her former Today co-host, is released, sources say Sylvia Jeffreys is finally being asked to choose where her real loyalties lie.
“Sylvia would be feeling compromised, as though she’s selling out Karl if she throws her support behind Lisa,” the insider tells Woman’s Day. “Lisa was a great supporter of Sylvia and she’s always treated Lisa as a mentor. Lisa was even front and centre at Sylvia and Peter’s wedding! But Sylvia is first and foremost a Stefanovic, and she’s been told in no uncertain terms that blood is thicker than water.”
The insider adds that while Sylvia, 35, is still torn between the two, her husband Peter, 39, and Karl, 47, “have warned her that any association with Lisa could derail them all”.
It comes after a desperatelooking Sylvia was spotted having what appeared to be a heated discussion with friend Richard Wilkins and her hubby over lunch in Sydney recently.
