Sally Field DATING AGAIN at 75 !
After almost 30 years, the Oscar winner is ready for romance
Sally Field has finally dipped her toe in the dating waters 28 years after her second divorce – and friends tell Woman’s Day she’s “having the time of her life”.
According to our insider, the 75-year-old Oscar winner had “sworn off men before the pandemic hit, [and was] happy to potter about as grandma-tofive and mum-to-three very proud and protective sons”.
However, all that changed during lockdown,when she barely got to see her family.
“It was a very scary and lonely time for a lot of older single folk and Sally’s no exception,” says a longtime friend. “All of sudden she found herself isolated for the first time in her life and it was a very vulnerable feeling.
“Her daughter-in-law Sasha [middle son Eli Craig’s wife] suggested she try dating again, but to pull together a team of trusted friends to help screen out any duds. Sally’s not looking for any passionate romances – this is about finding a companion and someone she can trust enough to live with.”
Any wannabe suitors have a lot to live up to, as Sally counts some of Hollywood’s finest among her former loves. Aside from her two ex-husbands, Sally’s ex-boyfriends include Burt Reynolds, Kevin Kline, The Six Million Dollar Man star Lee Majors, Monkees singer Davy Jones and talk show legend Johnny Carson.
FUN DATES
“She predicts she’s not going to find heart-pounding romance and she’s pretty cynical about it all, which is a safe way to be, but she’s relying on friends to tee her up with the right folk,” adds the pal. “She says online dating is a terrible idea but she’s definitely had fun browsing. She’s always been quick-witted and bores easily, which eliminates most of the dating pool in LA. But so far she’s had a string of fun dates with a number of gentlemen.”
Friends are quick to point out that Sally’s not looking for anyone who wants to put their feet up with a pipe and slippers.
“Sally was diagnosed with [the bone-thinning disorder] osteoporosis 15 years ago but she hasn’t let it stop her active lifestyle,” says a source.
“She still does yoga, goes hiking and cycling, so she’s not looking for a retirement partner. She wants someone to be young and have fun with and be there for her if things go crazy again.”
