Robert Irwin turned 18 last month but the new adult might still need some tips on dating! Last week, the Irwin heir decided to make a move on his long-time crush, British actress Millie Bobby Brown,
17, and things didn’t quite work out as planned.
The teens have been following each other on Instagram for a while now, but Robert put the Stranger Things star on the spot by commenting on one of her posts of a scuba diver waving bye to a turtle. In a nod to hit movie Elf, Millie’s caption read, “Bye buddy, I hope you find your dad.”
Fledgling photographer Robert, who lost his famous dad Steve at the age of two, liked the post, adding, “So cool! Quality movie quote too!” with a smiling emoji.
A pal of Millie’s says, “It was super awkward and poor Millie didn’t know what to say. Anything she posted would have been shredded by trolls, so she ended up messaging him her reply in private.
“She likes Robert a lot and they’ve been friends for a while. He’s totally hot and it’s pretty obvious he’s got a thing for her, but she’s not interested in any long-distance relationships.”
