Harry’s confession ‘I’VE MADE A TERRIBLE MISTAKE’
A contrite prince has turned to the most unlikely person for guidance – his father
It’s been a rough start to the year for Prince Harry, and he’s seeking comfort in the most unexpected of places – from his father Prince Charles.
It’s a dramatic turn of events for the pair, who were estranged until Charles’ recent olive branch that brought them back to speaking terms.
“It seems Charles reaching out to Harry has rather broken the dam,” says a palace insider. “Now, Harry’s on the phone to him all the time asking for advice after making a string of bad decisions.”
This comes after Harry and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, made a bizarre public swipe at their employer, Spotify, last week, over the streaming service’s controversial top podcaster Joe Rogan’s COVID misinformation.
“It was an odd move to make given Spotify has paid the Sussexes more than $30 million to so far produce one 35-minute podcast more than a year ago,” says an insider close to Harry, 37.
“It blew up in their faces and now there are genuine concerns they might be dropped, which would be a disaster for their money situation.”
OUT OF HAND
This comes after Harry’s copped heat from all corners after announcing he’s penning a memoir about royal life, along with signing up to create content for Netflix – producer of The Crown, which portrays his family in a negative light.
“Word is that Harry confessed to Charles that it’s all gotten out of hand,” says a source. “Most of it was Meghan’s idea, and she insisted she knew what she was doing. But it’s becoming clear she’s just as out of her depth as he is.
“His life in California, estranged from his British family, is not what he thought it would be. He wanted a quiet life in the sunshine with his kids, not being dragged into all these Hollywood media games.
“Harry never thought he’d say this, but he misses England – and of course Charles has told him he’s welcome home any time he likes. The Prince of Wales has invited him to stay at one of his residences should Harry need a break to think things through.”
