‘My kids prefer my wife’s cooking!’

-

You’d think being a celebrity chef would automatically earn you the title of being your kids’ favourite cook, but Curtis Stone confesses his sons Hudson, 10, and Emerson, seven, favour his actress wife of eight years Lindsay Price’s food.

“She cooks good Mexican and lasagne, so if you asked them they’d probably say they prefer Mum’s cooking to mine,” Curtis laughs to Woman’s Day.

Instead, the 46-year-old star sticks to whipping up breakfast for his kids, who love breakfast burritos, pancakes or avocado toast.

“Because I work so much, I need to push as hard as I possibly can when I’m at home,” says the dedicated dad. “I drop the kids at school every morning, then I carry on to the gym or to work.”

Like most parents, Curtis admits, “It isn’t easy,” juggling it all, but the family make sure they carve out lots of quality time, including camping trips to their new “weekender” hobby farm in Malibu.

“It’s a beautiful property,” the TV star says. “It has a little farmhouse and a vineyard. We did our first harvest so we made some wine.”

While Curtis reveals the family – who share an $11 million mansion in LA’S exclusive suburb of Brentwood – have “no plans” to come back to Oz permanently, he is heading home with Lindsay, 45, and the kids for “a good stint” over the Australian winter. “I love bringing the boys back and having them connect with their Aussie roots and family,” says Curtis, who’s back on our screens this week as a Masterchef guest judge.

“I just love the show,” he says. “And I’m very appreciative to still be a part of it.”
