D’leanne Lewis BABY NUMBER 3 AT 50!

The Luxe Listings star opens up about her exciting news

-

When doctors told D'leanne Lewis that at 50 she had only one year left to safely fall pregnant, the real estate mogul and star of Luxe Listings Sydney decided to use a donor to achieve her dream of being a mum-of-three.

It was witnessing the beautiful bond between her two daughters Nava, six, and Myka, four, that cemented D'leanne's desire to add a third child to her tribe.

“I see the love that they have for each other – it's boundless,” she says. “They are each other's number one, and there's no amount of houses I could sell in the world that can compare to how that feels.”

The Sydney real estate queen had frozen her eggs when she was 35 but was not yet ready to become a mum. “When I first started in real estate, it was an era where you chose your career or you chose to have kids,” she says. “I went, ‘Yep, I want to do this job – I love it,' and spent my 20s and 30s trying not to get pregnant.”

But when she hit 35, she felt inklings of maternal desire and put some eggs on ice. That proved prudent after she got married at 40 and desperately wanted a baby.

“The intense desire to have more children didn't occur until my first was born,” she recalls. “I was like, ‘I want to have someone who's going to be there for you when we can't be.'”

SINGLE MUM LIFE

Six months into her second pregnancy, D'leanne left the marriage, so she's no stranger to the challenges of caring for a baby on her own. This time around, she's used a sperm donor to make her final baby dream come true.

“My doctor told me 51 was the cut-off for me, and I was 50 this year, so I decided that all I could do is try and give it all I've got,” she says.

She waited until the halfway mark to tell her daughters that they would soon be getting another sister.

“They were so excited, it was beautiful,” D'leanne smiles. “We've given her a name and they talk to her every morning and night – she's already part of our family.”

Despite violently vomiting up to 10 times a day, D'leanne says she loves being pregnant. “It's harder to carry when you're 50 and I've got two young kids and I'm working fulltime, so it's challenging physically, even though I'm super-fit,” she tells. “One time I had a property showing and parked my car down the street to meditate for 10 minutes prior and I fell asleep – I was so physically exhausted! The next thing I knew, the client was knocking on my window and asking if I was alright.”

Third time around, D'leanne is looking forward to going with the flow of a newborn.

“As long as I have a healthy baby, I'll be running real estate campaigns and all of that,” she says.

“I think with the second one, you're more chilled, and the third will be the same – you know that the ride is bumpy. I think I'm a far better mother now.

I'm kinder to myself.”
