HOLLYWOOD MEAN GIRL?

Celebrities have come in full force to slam the Friends star

-

Move over Ellen – beloved Friends actress Lisa Kudrow’s past is coming back to haunt her after a string of celebrities have come forward with stories of alleged “rude” behaviour by the star.

Most shocking of all is The Hills reality show star Spencer Pratt, who branded Lisa, 59, “one of the worst humans I’ve ever come in contact with” in an online post last week.

When fellow reality star Bethenny Frankel chimed in with her own uncomfortable encounter, during which Lisa blanked her on the talk show, Spencer, 39, decided to divulge a little more!

In 2009 at an NBC party, Spencer attended with his wife, Heidi Montag, when Lisa approached the couple.

“Phoebe [the name of Lisa’s character on Friends] approaches, which was a little shocking since nobody had talked to us at all at the party,” he said.

“Right in front of me, she tells Heidi she needs to get away from me as fast as possible because I’m going to murder her and I have the eyes of a serial killer.

“Heidi waits to see if it’s a joke. No laughs, [Lisa] just walks away.

That right there is the rudest moment I’ve ever encountered with a human being.”

IN HER DEFENCE

While Lisa’s rep has yet to respond to the claims, friends are quick to defend her. “You don’t get as far as Lisa has without locking horns with a few people along the way,” one friend tells Woman’s Day.

“She’s devastated this has happened and feels her comedy style is being misinterpreted but it doesn’t look good. The sad thing is she doesn’t even remember meeting them, but anyone who knows

Lisa knows she was likely being deadpan.”

Even comedy legend Jerry Seinfeld made no secret of his contempt for Lisa when his only words to her at a Hollywood party in the ’90s was, “You’re welcome,” for his show making Friends famous.

“Jerry makes everyone nervous,” says the pal. “He had beef with her for freezing on him when they first met and he thought she was being rude. As for Bethenny, that’s kind of unfair – she was focused on

being interviewed when the cameras are on, not off.

Those close to her agree that Lisa can be rather abrasive and often very dry, and has used Phoebe’s quirkiness to get away with some pretty caustic behaviour over the years.

“It’s no surprise she’s taken the wrong way but 15 years ago it wasn’t seen as bullying – it was the Joan Rivers school of mean and everyone loved you for it. And in Lisa’s situation, it’s a case of kick the cat because she was so bullied as a kid she ended up getting a nose job at 16.”

Interestingly, the star has spoken about being completely cast out by two of her closest friends at the start of junior high, which would prove to be a difficult few year for the teen. “All of junior high felt upside down to me,” she told Cosmopolitan. “It wasn’t the nice people who were popular, it wasn’t the entertaining people, it was the meanest people who were popular.”

CRISIS TALKS

Friends say her team are worried that if more stories start to unfold, she might face the same brutal cancellation that Ellen Degeneres did earlier this year.

“Lisa never expected anything like this would come back and bite her, but even she is disturbed by what Spencer claims,” adds the insider. “She and her team are in crisis meetings discussing as to how they can repair or litigate the damage. Whether Lisa deserves it or not, she’s fighting to keep her ‘much beloved’ reputation.”
