WHAT ABOUT ELECTRIC CARS?

Thinking of making the switch? Here are some things to consider!

-

There are lots of reasons to consider an electric car (or EV) – the most obvious being that they’re better for the environment.

While the upfront cost for these vehicles tends to be on the pricey side, there is reason to believe they may become comparable with petrol cars within the next few years. When considering the price of an electric car, it’s important to weigh up the long-term costs.

“Petrol prices are so high and they’re going to increase over time,” Samantha Johnson, managing director of Polestar Australia, explains.

Buying an EV can also save you money in other ways. “The servicing costs are lower and your maintenance costs are lower because you have less moving parts,” she says.

If you’re considering an EV, check your local state government website to see what rebates are on offer. Another option is to look at is green financing.

“There are different incentives out there to make it more affordable for people moving into electric vehicles,” Samantha adds.
