The Queen’s final hours were marred by what insiders describe as “utter confusion” over whether Harry would be joined by his wife at his grandmother’s deathbed.

When word went out that the Queen’s closest family members should get to Balmoral without a moment to waste, the Sussex media machine went into action.

A message was sent to the couple’s go-to journalists that both Harry and Meghan were making the trip to Scotland.

According to the Daily Mail, palace aides – who had learned of Meghan’s plan via the media – were “incredulous” and deemed the idea “totally inappropriate”.

A whirlwind 30 minutes later, the information was amended to say Harry was travelling alone.

The Sun claims Prince Charles, who at the same time would’ve been witnessing his mother’s final breaths, called Harry and told him to come alone.
