WINDSORS UNITE IN GRIEF

A warm reception from royal followers lifted the mood at Balmoral

-

In a break from the somberness, grieving members of the royal family were given spontaneous applause at the gates of Balmoral Castle after stopping to talk to well-wishers and view the deep mound of flowers lying at the wall for her majesty.

Prince Andrew, his daughters Eugenie and Beatrice, Prince Edward and Sophie, as well as daughter Lady Louise and Princess Anne, and her children Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, had driven to Crathie Kirk, the church close to Balmoral where the Queen and her family worshipped every Sunday.

As they left, their convoy stopped alongside River Dee to allow the family to greet about 150 well-wishers, who had been waiting patiently for up to 45 minutes behind a barrier.

While tears flowed, onlookers were grateful to greet the family who all gave thanks to the public for giving up their time.
