Growing up, Charles wasn’t close with his youngest brother, who is 15 years his junior. But sources say he has “come to rely” on Prince Edward, 58, and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex, 57, especially after Prince Harry quit working royal life. “Charles knows Sophie and Edward work hard and are dedicated to the cause, so they’ll stay,” says an insider. “He finds Sophie, who is personable and full of realistic ideas, particularly valuable.” It’s believed Charles will soon make good on his parents’ pledge to make Edward the new Duke of Edinburgh, a title vacated by their father Prince Philip.
