The theme parks of the Gold Coast – Warner Bros Movie World, Sea World, Wet’n’wild, Dreamworld and Whitewater World – are high on most kids’ holiday wishlists, but there’s much more to south-east Queensland. Feed kangaroos and cuddle koalas at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, which also has the Treetops Challenge High Ropes Course, head into the hinterland to the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk or take a whale-watching cruise (June to October).
