DUTY ABOVE ALL

Prince Charles immediately became King the moment the Queen died, and he vowed to follow his late mother’s “selfless duty” in his first address to the Commonwealth as monarch. One of his first tasks was meeting with First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon. Charles was later given the keys to the city of Edinburgh.

His Majesty, dressed in army uniform, led the procession behind the Queen’s coffin in Edinburgh.

The King wore his traditional Scottish kilt for the historic occasion.
