Studio 10’s roving-reporter, 34, talks about The Real Love Boat and how his own love story also began on a cruise
What made you want to be a part of this new reality show?
I saw this as an exciting opportunity, and it took me back to my younger days when I worked on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean as an entertainer!
You’re the head of entertainment – what does that involve?
I bring the fun and positivity to the show and get our single passengers hyped up for our destinations.
Did you watch the original series to prepare?
I’ve seen re-runs of the original show, but I’ve brought my own unique personality and style to the new series.
Did you all live on the boat together while filming? What was the food like?
We were onboard the luxury cruise ship called the Regal Princess. It’s a beautiful ship. The food onboard was amazing – a delicious variety of cultural foods to choose from.
You’ve been a roving reporter on Ten for years now and no doubt have seen your fair share of interesting things. How did this experience compare?
This experience was truly amazing – my first time working on a reality show... it was such a big production to be part of, and on top of all that we filmed in such stunning locations across Europe.

There’s definitely plenty of drama onboard The Real Love Boat, but also heartwarming scenes, too.

You’ve already found The One in wife Joanne. Tell us how you two met...
My darling wife Joanne! We met on a cruise ship more
than 10 years ago – she is the love of my life. She came on the ship for a holiday with her sister and before you knew it, I won Joanne over with my charm. We are now married with two beautiful boys, Reggie and Arlo, two dogs and Midnight our cat, who is the boss of our household.
You're so fun and full of energy on Do you bring that same energy at home or are you more chilled out?
Studio 10.
Believe it or not, I’m the strict parent but I love a good laugh and dance with our boys – we love going to parks. Reggie is full of beans, so we are constantly burning his energy until it’s bedtime. Arlo is our happy child – nothing is too much trouble, he’s very playful, and both boys love life and we love them.
Would you ever let them go on a reality TV dating show when they get older?
Sure, why not let them enjoy the experience? Whatever choice they make in life, we will always be there to support them.
Have you ever been on a cruise with your family?
Not yet but Joanne and I are keen to take the boys on one – it will be fun, that’s for sure!
