SEPTEMBER 25, 2007
He is formally reported missing by his parents.
SEPTEMBER 27, 2007
Matty’s car is found abandoned at a park in Sutherland with police suspecting foul play.
AUGUST 2008
Michael is arrested and charged with the murder of Matty.
SEPTEMBER 2009
A month-long trial ensues, where a jury finds Michael not guilty of Matty’s murder.
JANUARY 2015
The coronial inquest into the death of Matty resumes.
2016
The coroner orders Michael to speak and give evidence at the inquest, some of which is deemed perjurious.
NOVEMBER 2016
Police launch a search for Matty’s body following a deal with Michael.
MAY 31, 2017
Matty’s remains are found under a palm tree.
DECEMBER 2017
The cause of Matty’s death can’t be determined. Michael walks away a free man.
