Angelina makes harrowing claims of abuse against Brad Pitt
Angelina Jolie has levelled bombshell allegations against her ex-husband Brad Pitt, alleging that during a drunken rage on board their family’s private jet, he violently abused her and at least two of their children and poured alcohol on his wife and kids – claims Brad vehemently denies.
In court documents filed in the LA Superior Court as part of a countersuit against Brad, 58, who is suing her for selling her portion of their French winery to the makers of Russian vodka Stoli, Angelina, 47, insists she’s offloading her portion of the Chateau Miraval business due to his “acknowledged problem of alcohol abuse”.
It makes for horrific reading, and appears to shed further light on an incident on the couple’s jet in September 2016 in which child services was called. She filed for divorce in the following days. According to Angelina’s lawyer, a drunk Brad “choked one of the children and struck another in the face” during a flight from France to Minnesota, US. The filing alleges that Brad accused Angelina of being “too deferential” to their six children, sparking a fight between the pair in the jet’s bathroom. “Pitt grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her, and then grabbed her shoulders and shook her again before pushing her into the bathroom wall. Pitt then punched the ceiling of the plane numerous times, prompting Jolie to leave the bathroom.”
TERRIFYING ALLEGATIONS
The claim continues, “When one of the children verbally defended Jolie, Pitt lunged at his own child and Angelina grabbed him from behind to stop him. To get Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself backwards into the airplane’s seats, injuring Jolie’s back and elbow.
“The children rushed in and all bravely tried to protect each other. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face.”
Angelina further claimed Brad poured beer on her and wine on the children and screamed obscenities at them.
Brad, who in 2019 revealed he was in Alcoholics Anonymous and “committed to sobriety”, alleges in his own lawsuit that Angelina “pursued and consummated the purported sale in secret, purposefully keeping him in the dark, and knowingly violating his contractual rights”.
But Angelina’s lawyers now argue that discussions over the sale of Chateau Miraval “broke down” after Brad demanded she sign a “nondisclosure agreement that would have contractually prohibited her from speaking outside of the court about Pitt’s physical and emotional abuse”.
In a statement to CNN, a representative for Brad said, “[Jolie’s] story continues to evolve each time she tells it with new, unsubstantiated claims. Brad has accepted responsibility for what he did but will not for things he didn’t do. These new allegations are completely untrue.”
Brad is still fighting for joint custody of Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, and 14-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. Their eldest children, Maddox, 21, and Pax, 18, are legally adults.
