It may not be all unsolved murder and mystery at Lake Mead.

The discovery of floating human remains in July could give one Las Vegas family much-needed closure after years of heartache.

Kenneth Funk, a 56-year-old army veteran, drowned on June 19, 2004 while on a family boating trip. He died while saving his wife, Annette, when a wave hit the boat and threw her overboard.

Unfortunately, Annette had removed her lifejacket moments before to change her shirt, so Kenneth jumped in after her and gave her his, treading water for as long as he could.

Annette was rescued by a nearby airplane and park rangers searched the then 300-foot-deep area of Lake Mead, but Kenneth’s body was never found.

“If it’s him, I want to do the right thing and take care of him,” Kenneth’s daughter Jessica Condon told a local newspaper. The family are now waiting for the coroner’s verdict.

Q

When my daughter was diagnosed with a terminal illness, she got a pet dog. I wonder, is her dog still seeing my daughter since she has passed away? Louise MITCHELL SAYS Your beautiful daughter is coming through with so much happiness and excitement. She looks very well and tells me she has now got her energy back and that the awful illness is all gone. Our pets are very sensitive to sensing and seeing our loved ones who have passed over. Your daughter smiles and says yes, her dog is still able to see her when she comes to visit and check up on you. She tells me she always gives you a hug when she visits and pats her dog. Your daughter says tell my mum I love her and that she will send rainbows to you as a special sign from Spirit. Q

I have moved house three times in less than two years and cannot find anywhere that feels like home. As I am so displaced, I wonder whether I am meant to keep living here or move interstate or overseas? Mitchell MITCHELL SAYS I don’t feel that moving interstate or overseas is the best solution. I’m picking up that you will move again soon, but please consider moving to a coastal area that is new to you and within the same state you are currently living. I can see you in a home that is close to the water’s edge and the backyard joins onto a small reserve. I’m told that once you’ve moved, you’ll need to give it a solid year before you will finally feel completely settled and content there. I feel a lot of new doors and opportunities will open for you with this move. Wishing you the best of luck.
