If you’re brave enough to wander along the Marlborough Sarina Road in Queensland’s north-east, take a friend. So horrific is its bloody history, the original route of the Horror Stretch has been relocated 80km to the east. Despite dozens of untold mysteries plaguing the strip, little has been discovered about the abandoned highway. Truck drivers refuse to drive on it at night, unable to shake off the feeling they were being watched from beyond the bushes. By day, an old petrol station and vandalised camping ground lies dormant, not a soul in sight.
