WHERE TO EAT
With its new renovations, Pinky’s Beach Club is your go-to after a big day of exploring. Sit inside and be warm and toasty during the winter months or sit outside and eat with a view in the warmer months. The menu showcases the best of the island’s native produce with an Italian influence and is a must-visit for seafood lovers. From spaghetti with lobster, to fried baby squid or seared prawns for dinner – it’s all here. Be sure to try one of their signature cocktails, too!
WHAT TO DO
At Rottnest, there is plenty to do and plenty of time to do it all. Explore the boardwalks through the sand dunes down to Pinky’s Beach Club or take a walk up to the Bathurst Point Lighthouse to see the stunning view. You can also head to the Wadjemup Lighthouse for a daily tour. Walk the Wadjemup trails at your own pace or with a guided tour. The trails take you through the cross-coastal headland, inland lakes and landmarks.
In the warmer months, head down to The Basin or Fish Hook Bay for some snorkelling in the pristine waters. The island is home to hundreds of species of tropical fish, turtles and stingrays, so a trip to the ocean will not disappoint. Take a leisurely ride around the isle, which takes around three-anda-half hours depending on how many times you stop. With so many stunning places to check out it may take longer, so hire an electric bike!
DON’T MISS!
With quokkas being the island’s national treasure, you must get a selfie with one of these cute and furry animals! The best place to track them down is in The Settlement, but they can be seen all over the island. They are very active during the day and aren’t afraid to get up close and personal. One for the photo albums!
