QUEEN IN TRAINING!
Charles entertained the South African president at his first state dinner as King but the Princess of Wales stole the show
All eyes were on the stunning Princess of Wales at King Charles’ first state banquet for the president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, at Buckingham Palace on November 22.
The princess, 40, looked every bit a queen-in-waiting, wearing the Lover’s Knot Tiara, a favourite of the late Princess Diana, who once admitted it was so heavy it would cause headaches.
Sporting a jewelled Jenny Packham caped gown, Kate’s regal look was accompanied by pearls hanging from diamond knots and a bracelet once owned by the late Queen Elizabeth.
She completed her look with the Royal Family order and the Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order star and sash. Commentators have since called her appearance, “one of the most glamorous royal moments in years.”
Kate, 40, was in attendance alongside her husband Prince William, Queen Camilla, the Earl and Countess of Wessex and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, all representing the British royal family.
The state visit was the first since 2019, due to the pandemic, and did not hold back on the pomp and pageantry, which had been sorely missed by royal watchers the world over.
