FROM PRISON TO TV COURTROOM!

-

Three years after leaving jail following her involvement in the infamous college admissions scandal, Felicity Huffman is finally making her Hollywood comeback.

The 60-year-old actress was snapped on the set of new TV drama The Good Lawyer – a legal spin-off of The Good Doctor – in Vancouver, Canada. The series, which is only in pilot stage, will see the former Desperate Housewives star play “highly regarded” attorney Janet Stewart.

Sources say Felicity was hesitant to return to the small screen following her personal legal dramas, which saw her pay a bribe to get her daughter Sophia Macy’s college admission test score altered.

“Felicity was really embarrassed,” says an insider of the TV star, who was ordered to pay a $42,000 fine and 250 hours of community service on top of her prison sentence. “She didn’t even think about returning to acting.”

But the source says her husband, fellow actor William H Macy, 72, encouraged her to get back to business. “[He] told her that it was time to get on with her life and do what she does best,” adds the friend.

According to an insider, acting is Felicity’s “true love and passion”.

“Hollywood is a small town and nobody has anything bad to say about her,” adds another source. “She hopes that she will be accepted again.”

Following her sentencing in 2019, a contrite Felicity released a statement, promising, “In the months and years to come I will try and live a more honest life, serve as a better role model for my daughters and family and continue to contribute my time and energies wherever I am needed.”
