TV’S biggest social experiment has produced a bundle of joy
Our favourite MAFS couple are officially parents! Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli welcomed the safe arrival of their baby boy, Lucius Brunelli, last week.
The couple shared the news via a sweet Instagram post on Monday night, showing little Lucius sleeping in his hospital cot. “He’s here, he’s perfect,” Martha, 34, wrote.
In the comments, Michael was on hand to confirm the pronunciation of their little boy’s name.
“‘LOO-SHUS’ if you’re wondering,” the 32-yearold influencer said.
Many of the couple’s celeb pals and fans shared their congratulations and praised Martha for the safe delivery following a rough pregnancy. “I love that she straight-up showed him and the name instead of hiding it all,” one fan commented.
“Now Martha, you can breathe a sigh of relief and like every mother, say, ‘Thank god you’re out!’” another joked.
After announcing her pregnancy in September 2022, Martha said she spent her first trimester in bed due to hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) – a rare condition that can cause extreme morning sickness.
“At five weeks I was diagnosed with HG, which is basically severe chronic nausea and vomiting with no relief. It is like 24/7,” Martha said at the time. “I literally did not get out of bed for two months – I was so sick.”
However, all has been forgotten for the first-time parents who are smitten with their new bub.
The couple, who met during their televised wedding on season six of MAFS in 2018, said they soon knew they’d like to start a family one day.
“Our foundations are similar and we have strong family values… I could imagine having a family with him… definitely,” Martha told TV WEEK in 2019.
