BINDI’S FRESH START IN AMERICA!

A shock health battle has seen the wildlife warrior wanting more out of life

From the moment she could walk and talk, Bindi Irwin lived and breathed Australia Zoo – but things could be about to change forever.

Breaking her silence, the 24-year-old mum of Grace, who turns two next week, has revealed that while raising her daughter and being an advocate for the zoo, she has also been silently suffering from crippling endometriosis.

“There is only so much one person can do at the best of times,” says a source. “Bindi has been running herself ragged, all while feeling terrible.”

Now, fresh from intensive surgery in New York to ease her symptoms, insiders say she’s ready to take a break from the zoo she calls home.

“Her heart will always be at the zoo, but her husband Chandler [Powell] was worried she’d never truly rest while surrounded by her family’s life’s work,” says the insider. “She saw his point, and agreed it was best to take some R&R.”

Woman’s Day understands that Bindi is keen to head to her 26-year-old husband’s home country, the US, with their daughter, for an extended and well deserved break.

“She will of course eventually go back to the zoo but at the moment she wants to show Grace the other side of her roots,” says the source. “She’ll go with her mum Terri and brother Robert’s blessing.”

Last week, Bindi revealed via Instagram that she’d had surgery after 10 years of pain, nausea, fatigue and doctors dismissing her symptoms as “just something a woman deals with”.

After being encouraged by a fellow endo sufferer, Bindi had surgery – during which 37 lesions, some “deep and difficult to remove”, and a chocolate cyst were found.

Bindi says her doctor’s first words to her afterwards were, “How did you live with this much pain?”

“Millions of women [are] struggling with a similar story... I’m sharing for anyone who is dealing with pain and no answers,” she confessed to her followers on social media.

Chandler instantly commented on the post and wrote, “You are the strongest, toughest person I know. I love you and I’m so excited for this new chapter of life.”

The halls of the Nova radio network were thrown into turmoil last week, with gossip swirling that one star was in tears after being called to a shock meeting at the station’s headquarters, while other big-name talents were reportedly left fearing for the future of their jobs.

It was Ricki-lee Coulter, 37, who managed to come out on top after it was confirmed she is replacing Kate Ritchie alongside Tim Blackwell and Joel Creasey
