Hugh Jackman and Katie Holmes have been acquaintances on the New York social scene for years, but no one has seen sparks y like they did recently during the intermission of a Broadway play in New York.
e famous duo arrived separately at Studio 54 for the
nal performance of Alan Cumming Is Not Acting His Age but didn’t catch up until the interval, when onlookers say the pair made a beeline for one another.
“It was electric!” says an eyewitness. “ey greeted each other like old friends and appeared to have lots to talk about. ey’re both obsessed with the theatre, so it’s understandable, but this is the
rst time they’ve seen each other since his divorce, so they were irting big time. Hugh had a twinkle in his eye for the rest of the night after they promised to meet up again soon.

Hugh, 55, and Katie, 45, have known each other for years, but sources say Tom Cruise’s third wife really got to know the Aussie hunk and his then-wife Deborra-lee Furness in 2019, when they spoke at the launch of Global Goal Live.
“Hugh and Deb have always admired Katie,” says an insider. “As close friends of Nicole Kidman, they have nothing but respect for her, so it’s no surprise to see Hugh being friendly with Katie. ey have a lot in common – from kids the same age to the theatre and now divorce – but the fact that even his ex-wife likes her is a huge bonus.”
A friend of the Dawson’s Creek star adds, “Katie absolutely adores Hugh and would climb over rocks to date him. He’ll already have her number from that talk ve years ago, so there’s nothing stopping him, but she knows how raw things can be after a divorce, so she’s letting him take charge and giving him the space and time he needs.
“She doesn’t want to be someone’s rebound, but she’s more than happy to be a supportive friend to Hugh while he’s going through this, and if at some point down the line things get more interesting, Katie will be ecstatic!”
