Being healthy and active is really genuine for me; that’s what

I’ve grown up doing. I went to nationals in three different sports when I was a teenager: basketball, netball and water polo. Straight after Year 12, I went to play a season semiprofessionally in SEABL (South East Australian Basketball League – the level below the WNBL). It was pretty cool, looking back now. After that, the plan was to follow in my sister’s footsteps and go to college in America. However, I decided against it. I guess I always wanted to be doing exactly what I’m doing now. But playing sport gave me a good work ethic and resilience, which has definitely come in handy in my modelling career.

I think coming from a very sporty environment also helps in being confident with your body – you know your body is a means to do a lot. Then, going into modelling, I could see the detrimental effect that it can have when you’re not confident. I honestly believe there’s more to life than worrying about your body or fitting into a size. There are so many more important and exciting things to do than spending time thinking about that.
