There’s nothing more frustrating than learning the hard way that breakouts don’t necessarily end with your teenage years. Sigh. In fact, one-third of total acne visits to dermatologists in the Western world are made by women over the age of 25.

Want to rein in problem skin? We recommend making an appointment with your GP as a first move. That way, you can rule out or treat any hormonal health conditions, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which can cause bad breakouts.

Need a derm on speed-dial now? Enter Dr Pimple Popper, aka dermatologist Dr Sandra Lee, whose wildly popular zit-popping, blackhead-extracting Youtube videos have hit viral status. We asked Lee, with a little help from our beauty expert at WH, to answer a host of common acne-related questions to get unruly skin back on track.
