The Tungamah So­cial Club and Tungamah Ho­tel held their an­nual Good Fri­day Ap­peal at the Tungamah Ho­tel last Fri­day with plenty of events to keep ev­ery­one en­ter­tained and a large amount of money raised.

Or­gan­iser Dianne Ford said they were very happy with the day and the amount of money that was fundraised.

“Our fundrais­ing tally is up from last year where we raised $21,000 with the 2018 tally sit­ting in ex­cess of $25,000,” Dianne said.

“The crowd was down from last year which was dis­ap­point­ing but peo­ple still made sure to dig deep and we are happy with the amount of money raised.”

A car rally, raf­fles in­clud­ing noth­ing un­der the value of $50, yab­bie races, free show bags, jump­ing cas­tles, an Easter egg hunt, live mu­sic and auc­tions were all held to help raise money for the fan­tas­tic cause.

Items in­clud­ing ac­com­mo­da­tion from Kennedy’s Hol­i­day Re­sort and Club Mul­wala, gravel and rock from Me­gar­ity’s and Lawrence Brothers, dressed lamb and pigs and din­ner for eight in your own home cour­tesy of But­ler’s of Nu­murkah were just some of the items lucky buy­ers were able to pur­chase in the auc­tion with all pro­ceeds go­ing to­wards the ap­peal.

Diane said the genoristy of the town­ship was great and the helpers she had on the day was even bet­ter.

“Our mem­bers that vol­un­teered for the day gave 100%, they were ab­so­lutely mar­velous,” Diane said.

“We hope to be even big­ger and bet­ter next year with our tally in­creas­ing even more for the won­der­ful cause.”

Mem­bers of the Tungamah So­cial Club, Tungamah Ho­tel and lo­cal chil­dren with do­na­tion tins and raf­fle items to raise money for the Royal Chil­drens Hos­pi­tal.
