67 years for Joy and John

Yarrawonga Chronicle - - Front Page - BY ROBERT MUIR

Love and wonderful family were the reasons stated by John Dunstan for 67 years of marriage to wife Joy last Saturday, April 7.

It was April 7, 1951 when the happy couple tied the knot at All Saints Church in Ballarat.

“It’s pretty good!” Allawah Hostel resident Joy commented about their near seven decades of marriage. “It’s wonderful!” John, who still enjoys a round of golf, added.

A long-retired electrical engineer, John served Australia with the RAAF in World War 2 as an elect/fitter gunner. He and Joy moved to Yarrawonga in 1999.

The Dunstans are both 95-years-of-age, with Joy two months older than her husband, having been born on Christmas Eve and John in February.

The Allawah Hostel staff made sure it was a lovely milestone day for their special resident and her husband, with flowers, cuppas and cake.
