Catholic Women’s League Card and Games Party will be held at the Old Con­vent on Mon­day, April 30 at 1pm.

This pop­u­lar so­cial event, with its renowned af­ter­noon tea, be­gan in the 1940s and has been en­joyed by gen­er­a­tions ever since, as it sup­ports Yar­ra­wonga Catholic Schools.

“Hos­pi­tal chief ex­ec­u­tive Mar­garet Ben­nett, the board and the 1200 staff at the hos­pi­tal do an in­cred­i­ble job and de­serve to be pro­vided with qual­ity fa­cil­i­ties to sup­port them in de­liv­er­ing the best pos­si­ble stan­dard of health care.

“Our re­gion needs and de­serves its fair share of hos­pi­tal fund­ing and this is out­stand­ing for the health needs of our com­mu­nity.”

Mr McCurdy said North­east Health Wan­garatta is the ma­jor re­fer­ral hos­pi­tal for peo­ple with com­plex health needs from Bright, Mans­field, Beech­worth, Myrtle­ford, Yar­ra­wonga, Euroa and Be­nalla.

“This fund­ing will pro­vide North­east Health with the ca­pac­ity to con­tinue to meet the re­fer­ral de­mand from across North-East Vic­to­ria,” con­tin­ued Mr McCurdy.

“North­east Health Wan­garatta ser­vices a wide catch­ment and pro­vides health care to more than 90,000 peo­ple across our re­gion so this fund­ing is needed.

“Every­one de­serves qual­ity health ser­vices, whether they live in the city or the coun­try, so it’s im­por­tant re­gional ar­eas are pro­vided with first-class fa­cil­i­ties.

“I will con­tinue to ad­vo­cate for the Yar­ra­wonga, Co­bram and Alpine health ser­vices to en­sure they too re­ceive the fund­ing nec­es­sary to de­liver the best stan­dard of care for lo­cal pa­tients.”
