The 2018 Yar­ra­wonga-Mul­wala Agri­cul­tural and Pas­toral Show will boast some new and ex­cit­ing events this year with a scare­crow com­pe­ti­tion, Face­book pet photo, dress up parade and the rein­tro­duc­tion of wood­chop­ping just some of the events added.

The scare­crow com­pe­ti­tion will in­volve the con­struc­tion of a life size or mini (50cm and un­der) scare­crow in dif­fer­ing age groups.

The life size scare­crow is open to ju­niors 12 years and un­der as well as an all age cat­e­gory with first prize earn­ing $25, 2nd $15 and 3rd prize of $10 in each sec­tion.

The mini scare­crow com­pe­ti­tion will be open to un­der 12s and over 12s with a first prize of $15, 2nd $10 and 3rd prize of $5 awarded to each sec­tion.

All en­tries for the scare­crow com­pe­ti­tion will close at 5pm on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 5 and the win­ners will be an­nounced at the show on Satur­day.

An­other newly added com­pe­ti­tion is the Face­book pet photo which is now up and run­ning, where lo­cals are in­vited to take a selfie with or just of their pet and up­load to the Yar­ra­wonga- Mul­wala Agri­cul­tural Show Face­book page.

At the end of each month from July un­til the Oc­to­ber 5 there will be one win­ner per month.

How­ever you must share and like the Yar­ra­wonga- Mul­wala Agri­cul­tural Show Face­book page and get the most amount of likes for your orig­i­nal selfie photo that’s posted on the page.

This is how you’ll be the win­ner of the month.

You will win 1 free pass into the Yar­ra­wonga-Mul­wala Agri­cul­tural and Pas­toral show and the com­mit­tee ask you to bring your pet in on show day if you want too.

Lastly a dress up parade for pri­mary school stu­dents will be held at 11.30am at the show­grounds on show day.

There will be two cat­e­gories for stu­dents to dress up as with fairies and su­per­heroes the pop­u­lar choice for kinder­garten, grade two, grade three and grade six stu­dents.

The win­ner of each sec­tion will re­ceive a rib­bon and prize at the com­ple­tion of the parade.

Make sure to make your way to the Yar­ra­wonga Mul­wala Agri­cul­tural and Pas­toral Show at the Yar­ra­wonga Show­grounds on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 6 to see all these new events in ac­tion.
