New and improved events
The 2018 Yarrawonga-Mulwala Agricultural and Pastoral Show will boast some new and exciting events this year with a scarecrow competition, Facebook pet photo, dress up parade and the reintroduction of woodchopping just some of the events added.
The scarecrow competition will involve the construction of a life size or mini (50cm and under) scarecrow in differing age groups.
The life size scarecrow is open to juniors 12 years and under as well as an all age category with first prize earning $25, 2nd $15 and 3rd prize of $10 in each section.
The mini scarecrow competition will be open to under 12s and over 12s with a first prize of $15, 2nd $10 and 3rd prize of $5 awarded to each section.
All entries for the scarecrow competition will close at 5pm on Friday, October 5 and the winners will be announced at the show on Saturday.
Another newly added competition is the Facebook pet photo which is now up and running, where locals are invited to take a selfie with or just of their pet and upload to the Yarrawonga- Mulwala Agricultural Show Facebook page.
At the end of each month from July until the October 5 there will be one winner per month.
However you must share and like the Yarrawonga- Mulwala Agricultural Show Facebook page and get the most amount of likes for your original selfie photo that’s posted on the page.
This is how you’ll be the winner of the month.
You will win 1 free pass into the Yarrawonga-Mulwala Agricultural and Pastoral show and the committee ask you to bring your pet in on show day if you want too.
Lastly a dress up parade for primary school students will be held at 11.30am at the showgrounds on show day.
There will be two categories for students to dress up as with fairies and superheroes the popular choice for kindergarten, grade two, grade three and grade six students.
The winner of each section will receive a ribbon and prize at the completion of the parade.
