Lego workshops unlocked!
The young and the young at heart can join interactive workshops as part of the upcoming Rutherglen and Corowa Unlocked event on 25-26 August.
Exploring the basic principles of architecture and design, participants will be encouraged to recreate local landmarks from across the region, using everyone’s favourite LEGO.
Children will also have the opportunity to share their vision for the future through their design of buildings and community spaces – in a fun and engaging environment at Oddfellows Hall in Corowa.
Phillip and Aaron from Regional Design Service expressed their excitement in being a part of the Rutherglen & Corowa Unlocked event.
“Growing up in Corowa there were very few, if no opportunities for me to learn and explore more about Design and Architecture,” said Mr Nicholls.
“This is why we developed the LEGO event - to engage and excite young minds with design thinking and the built world around them. It is understood that ‘..good design makes for good citizens’ – Scandinavia is the best example of this.
“This event really does underline the reason we established our business in Corowa – to give back to our community.
“It is our hope that this event and others that we are currently planning across the region will ignite a conversation about the places in which we all live and work - what makes them great, what doesn’t really work and how we might design them for the future. It’s very exciting.”
