The Un­der 14 Bulls trav­elled to Mansfield for their open­ing sea­son fix­ture. Asked to bowl first the Bulls got off to an ex­cel­lent start with Ge­off Mont­gomery rat­tling the stumps of the De­latite opener.

De­latite stead­ied be­fore Tyler Nor­man took two wick­ets off con­sec­u­tive balls.

De­latite wres­tled back the mo­men­tum with a 30-run part­ner­ship be­fore spin­ner TJ Dock­ing got through the de­fences of the De­latite bats­man.

On the stroke of drinks Tyler Nor­man again bounced back into ac­tion with a bril­liant di­rect hit runout. This was the start of a huge col­lapse for the op­po­si­tion.

Mont­gomery re­turned to the at­tack oblit­er­at­ing the bat­ting or­der fin­ish­ing with fig­ures of 4/5 off 5 overs.

He was well sup­ported by Mar­cus van Maa­nen who took a wicket with his first ball of the day.

Darcy Hicks wrapped up the in­nings with De­latite mak­ing 77.

Chas­ing the mod­est tar­get the Bulls got off to a stut­ter­ing start los­ing the top or­der with few runs on the board.

Show­ing ex­cel­lent grit Darcy Hicks and Lach­lan Phillips stead­ied the in­nings tak­ing the score to 26 be­fore Darcy lost his wicket.

The mid­dle or­der was asked to work hard by the op­po­si­tion with some ex­cel­lent bowl­ing.

Phillips got to 22 with 4 bound­aries when he edged one through to the keeper.

Nor­man and Mont­gomery con­sol­i­dated be­fore Nor­man was bowled for 10 with the score on 59.

There were some ner­vous mo­ments but Tyler True 10, Cameron Ford 15no and Mont­gomery 11 saw the Bulls get home.

The Bulls were fi­nally bowled out for 106. An ex­cel­lent win on the road.
