Yarrawonga Chronicle - - Classies -

The Under 14 Bulls have been set a target of 112 by Beechworth/Rutherglen. Despite some very good bowling the Bulls could not get the early breakthrough.

Fittingly Daniel O’Brien in the tenth over got the crucial wicket with Tyler Norman taking a very good outfield catch. One of the hardest trainers and determined young cricketers Daniel followed it up with another wicket two balls later to finish with 2/14 off 4 overs.

Tyler True bowled an immaculate line to claim the next wicket trapping the batsman plump in front of his stumps. Spin twins Darcy Hicks and TJ Docking picked up wickets to pile the pressure back on the opposition.

Geoff Montgomery returned from his opening spell to get another wicket. The opposition refused to roll over and with great spirit continued to build towards a good total before Cam Ford picked up his first wicket. The consistent Tyler Norman picked up a couple of wickets but again the opposition was dogged in defence and batted out the remaining overs to finish 9/111.

The Bulls will need to display the same defiant attitude and bat the whole of their overs this weekend if they are to challenge the target.
