AROUND THE GREENS
ClubMulwala Outdoor Bowls
Once again a quiet week with Tuesday pennant postponed for the Vic Open, however we
were able to run social bowls on Tuesday, with Thursday social cancelled due to inclement
Saturday pennant was a mixed bag with B1 away to Corowa Civic, where each rink put in
stellar performances, which resulted in a solid win.
B5 had a bye, what a frustrating season it has been for them, however spirits are high and
results have been good.
Our pennant selectors will meet each Tuesday after completion of the day’s competition to
select teams for the next Saturday and Tuesday matches, team sheets will be on the notice
board late Tuesday afternoon, please check the teams.
If you find you have been selected and are unable to play contact John Thurling (57432368) straight away to advise him, so that alternative arrangements can be made.
Tuesday Social was played in good conditions; the greens continue to be of the highest standard and are a credit to Ged. Results were: Winners Jan Martin and Rod Minato (visitor).
Runners up Faye Cook and Jacqui Seymour. Well done to our match committee for making the effort of running social bowls whilst Pennant was postponed.
The first and some second rounds of the Men’s single championship were played on Sunday
with a good number of members taking to the greens, further games will be played next Sunday, December 2 at 10am.
We are just holding our own in pennant at the moment, with the results showing practice is needed to ensure we improve and consistency over the season half of the season, everyone can benefit from some extra time on the green.
Not so much a sickie, but heard one of our players, went in the fetlock at Corowa Civic but recovered enough to complete the game, no name, but the initials are G A.
