Lo­cal high ATAR achiev­ers

As ATAR re­sults were re­ceived across the na­tion last week, a num­ber of lo­cal stu­dents were named as some of the high­est ATAR scor­ers in the re­gion.

Yar­ra­wonga Col­lege P-12 Cap­tain Jordy Mc­Carthy was named Dux of the P-12 Col­lege with a score of 93.35.

Her high­est score was 47 in Out­door Ed­u­ca­tion and she plans to study teach­ing at Fed­er­a­tion Univer­sity in Bal­larat next year, ma­jor­ing in health, phys­i­cal ed­u­ca­tion, out­door-ed and math­e­mat­ics.

On Fri­day she also re­ceived con­fir­ma­tion that she is now el­i­gi­ble for a High Achiev­ers Schol­ar­ship worth over $18,000.

Jordy’s hard­work and ded­i­ca­tion is tes­ta­ment to her achieve­ments this year.

At Sa­cred Heart Col­lege Ash Churchin was named the 2018 Dux with a score 92.25 which in­cluded a study score of 50 for Fur­ther Maths.

Ash will en­list as a Naval Of­fi­cer in Jan­uary 2019.

Sa­cred Heart con­grat­u­lates Ash on her out­stand­ing re­sults which she thor­oughly de­served.

She epit­o­mized hard work and ded­i­ca­tion dur­ing her time at the col­lege.
