Re-elected Nationals Member for Ovens Valley Tim McCurdy has written to ministers in the new Victorian Labor Government calling on them to back key local projects that featured during the State Election campaign.

Mr McCurdy said Daniel Andrews and his team now needed to make good on their commitment to “deliver for all Victorians”.

“The commitments that I made on behalf on The Nationals were resoundingly endorsed by local voters,” Mr McCurdy said.

“I will continue to fight for a better deal for Ovens Valley and hold the Andrews Labor Government to account for the funding priorities and projects the people of Ovens Valley voted for.

“I’m now calling on the relevant Ministers to put politics aside and support community priorities.”

The projects include new trains for the North East rail line and a sports stadium at Wangaratta High School with basketball courts for community use.

“At Yarrawonga the hospital upgrade, drainage study and support of the Yarrawonga bridge green route remain priorities while at Cobram it’s a community hub located at the primary school and clubrooms for Cobram Roar,” Mr McCurdy said.

Mr McCurdy said these projects could not be ignored by the government.

“I look forward to working with the Labor Government to deliver on the important needs of Ovens Valley and I am determined to ensure that our voice is heard by the State Government.”
