ClubMulwala Outdoor Bowls

-

Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

Pennant Result

Tuesday saw A2 at home to St James, good competitive bowls however St James were just too good on the day.

B1 were at home to close neighbour YMGCR.

What a great battle this was, played in the right spirit on all rinks.

We got up on two out of three rinks, and just fell in overall.

No Saturday pennant this week.

Club Event

Last Sunday saw the final of the Men’s Singles Championship played between John Thurling and Daryl Dighton.

What a great game this was with Daryl Finally hitting the front when it counted.

Thursday saw the final of the Ladies Singles Championship played.

This saw the same two players as last year, Kaye Smith and Bev Norwood took to the green, another enthralling game with Kaye just edging Bev out for the second year.

Well done to all members who took part in the championship matches.

Christmas breakup

Our Christmas breakup was held on Wednesday December 19, with two games of bowls played, then on to the important part of the day, a great BBQ lunch.

Plenty of chat and some light refreshments, a couple of raffles (or should I say Albert family benefit events) were held, a great way to herald in the festive season and lead into a well-earned break, well done to our match committee and catering team.

Keep well and safe.

Barefoot Bowls

We are very pleased to advise our club will be holding barefoot bowls over the Christmas New Year period, they are open to anyone from 8 years to infinity, bowls will be supplied as will guidance where needed.

This is a great family outing with plenty of fun to be had.

The cost is $5 a head with children under 10 free; there will be a free sausage sizzle, and drinks will be available for purchase.

The dates are: January 9.

Registration is by 5pm on the day with games commencing at 6.30pm.

Come along and join in the fun.
