RENNIE FOOTBALL & NETBALL CLUB FINALS 2021 Hoppers primed for finals
Coach Dykes and Phibbs have struggled to get continuity in the season both from large injury numbers in the seniors and the stop start nature of the season causing commitment difficulties.
Dan Boulton has led the forward line with 20 goals, Douglass and Ferguson have provided the on-ball grunt and the injection of Freeman and Benjamin has provided some class and quality into the midfield.
The Hoppers have also seen major growth in Jones and Hornidge who have ended up spending time in the seniors and acquitting themselves well.
Add to that the experience of Dishot and Daz Clarke, with Sly Rapepa being the only player to play in every game.
As the final round showed, when the Hoppers click, they can be an extremely difficult opponent for anyone they may face in finals. guns Noah Clarke, Rudi Vodusek and Caleb Tanner showing improvement every week.
Overlay this with Harry Hogan, Jesse Brogan, Lach Kelly, Daniel Herrod, Tom Lovel, Tyler Bromley, Bailey Lewis, Damon Murray, Ryder Oliver and Harry Barker and the Hoppers have blended a responsible and decent group of young men into a competitive unit.
With hopefully more than one final, the future of the Hoppers is well held in these boys’ hands.
We congratulate all teams who have made finals particularly our reserves and under 17’s and we really hope they get a chance to show their wares during the finals series.
We also congratulate our netballers who have made finals. In what has been a challenging year where the club had a dearth of junior numbers early, we have been able to fight our way through the season and set ourselves up again for next year.
We thank our coaches who have gone over and above and specially thank our retiring dual premiership coach Craig Ednie whose contribution to the club will be enormously regarded forever at the club.
We also welcome 2022 senior coach Harry Haley and look forward to him becoming part of the Hopper family. Keep safe and go Hoppers.
