What a crazy season it has been. The Bears welcomed Blighty for the last game of the year.

The Bears were pumped up and ready to go from the first bounce. It was a fantastic match with only points separating the two sides all day.

The boys gave it their all but came up 3 points short at the final siren. The Bears should be proud of their efforts throughout the season with having only one top age player and limited player numbers.

It was a good way to finish off the season and gave them something to carry into next year. Thanks to Sidey, Truey, Joel, Dylan, Luke, Glen and Jeff for putting it together each week and making it happen. Harry, Kev and Bruce, the clubs’ fantastic trainers and Rachel, Club Secretary for getting the team sheets correct and lodged on time every week.

To all the volunteers who did the time keeping, send off, goal umpiring, water carriers and Boundary Umpires thank you so much.

Without all your efforts the boys wouldn’t get on the ground.

Goal Kickers: Darcy Hicks 1, Jack Costigan 1, Harvey Thomson 1, Tyler True 1, Jye Brennan 1, Dan O’Brien 2, Hunter Looby 1 and Jack McQualter-Whyte 1.

Awards: Crusty Loaf Awards - Jaxon Raven, Tom Costigan, Sam Adkins, Tom Coffee, McDonalds Awards - Darcy Cox, Max Chadwick, Darcy Hicks, Jack McQualter-Whyte and TFNC Award - Beau Cummins.

Unfortunately, due to Covid Restrictions the Blighty Football Netball Club was unable to field Seniors and Reserves footy last weekend.

Fourths

Tungamah

2.2.14.

The 4ths met Blighty in the last game of the season. The boys were eager to play after a long hiatus and showed their skills had not been affected.

They started well with 3 quick goals by vicecaptain Eales. This set the high standard of footy that was displayed by Tungamah for the rest of the game.

Bodhi led the forwards with 6 goals, closely followed by Lucas with 5 goals. Jayden played a great game in the centre, leading the way for his team.

Damon and Billie also starred throughout the centre, making it hard for the opposition to get the ball out of Tungamah’s forward line.

It was an all-round team effort, with all players contributing to a fantastic win. Now we are looking forward to an exciting finals series.

Awards: Jayden, Bodhi, Damon, Lucas, Billy and Lenny.

The Bear cubs played in their equivalent of a Grand Final this weekend and boy was everyone excited. Everyone played with passion, with great sportsmanship shown by all. Lots of fun was had and skills have improved out of sight during the season.

A huge thank you to the coaches, Luke, Tom, Nick, Nathan and Joel who have volunteered their time during the year to teach the Cubs.
